Georgia National Guard to host vendor fair Nov. 10th

georgia-national-guiardVendors can display their wares and meet buyers at the Georgia Army National Guard on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016.  Vendors may request a display table or just mingle at this no-cost event.

The event will be held at 1000 Halsey Ave., Building 447, Marietta, GA 30060.

Advance registration is required and may be accomplished by emailing the name(s) of individuals attending and the company they represent to jerriod.allen.mil@mail.mil.   Registrants also should indicate whether or not they would like to reserve a table.

Check-in and set-up begins at 9:00 a.m.  The program begins at 10:00 a.m., featuring guest speaker Chuck Schadl of the Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center.  Other presentations are expected to be made by representatives of SBA, GSA, and FedBid.

Vendors will have the opportunity to meet with buyers, one-on-one, beginning at 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Save the date: The University System of Georgia’s annual procurement expo will be Sept. 21st

USG Procurement Expo 2016Businesses interested in learning more about contracting opportunities with the colleges and universities that make up the University System of Georgia (USG) should set aside Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 to attend the USG’s 10th annual Procurement Expo.

The USG Procurement Expo is a one-day event that features exhibits from University System institutions and provides information on navigating the System’s procurement process.  While the event targets small businesses of all categories, all vendors are welcome to participate.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet representatives from the procurement, facilities, and information technology departments of the public colleges and universities in the State of Georgia.  In addition, vendors will have the opportunity to network with representatives from the Georgia Dept. of Administrative Services (DOAS), the state’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC), as well as city, county, state and federal government agencies.  In addition, representatives of construction management firm working with the USG will be in attendance.

The host of this year’s event will be Atlanta Metropolitan State College.

DLA Land & Maritime holding supplier conference Aug. 29 – Sept. 1 in Columbus, OH

NDIAThe National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) has announced the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime Supplier Conference and Exposition is returning to downtown Columbus, Ohio from August 29 – September 1, 2016.

DLAThe conference represents an opportunity to build new — and strengthen existing — partnerships. Attendees will participate in small and large business panel discussions with industry leaders and Defense officials with backgrounds in Logistics and Acquisition.

There will be breakout sessions on future acquisition requirements, cost and pricing, cybersecurity and other topics that will assist those working with DLA, and those looking to start a relationship with DLA.

Small business contract forecast forum to be held at Fort Benning on Aug. 9th

Fort Benning is inviting the business community to attend a “Small Business Forecast Forum” conducted by  representatives of Fort Benning and the Mission Installation Contracting Command (MICC).  Attendees will be provided with details of their anticipated forecast opportunities for 2016 and beyond, plus forecasting on acquisitions at Fort Rucker, Alabama, for the fiscal year, plus a special training presentation on “Trade Off: Best Value vs LPTA.”

This event will take place on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.  Sign-in begins at 8:30 am and the event will conclude at noon.

As Stephen A. Magner, Small Business Specialist at Fort Benning, puts it, “We’ll do Benning acquisitions, a little training, and finish the morning with Rucker acquisitions.”

The event will take place at Fort Benning’s McGinnis-Wickham Hall, Room West 105 (Auditorium), 1 Karker Street, Bldg. 4, Fort Benning, GA 31905-5000.

There is no fee to attend but advance registration is required!

ATDC ‘startup showcase’ is May 12

Annual university procurement expo to be held on Oct. 23 in Morrow

The University System of Georgia (USG) Procurement Expo is celebrating its ninth annual event on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015!

Clayton State UniversityThe 2015 USG Procurement Expo will be hosted by Clayton State University.  The event will be held in the Student Activities Center at Clayton State University located at 2000 Clayton State Boulevard, Morrow, GA.

The Expo encourages attendance by small, minority, and women-owned business enterprises; however, all suppliers are welcome.  Major purposes of the Expo are providing access to state university buyers by small businesses and teaching potential suppliers how to do business with the institutions associated with the University System of Georgia.

Ft. Gordon to hold semi-annual cyber security and technology day on October 21

Fort Gordon has announced it will be holding its semi-annual Cyber Security and Technology Day on Wednesday, October 21, 2015.

The event will be held between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm at Ft. Gordon’s conference and catering facility located on 19th St., Fort Gordon, GA 30905.
