HHS OSDBU hosting Engage2Connect virtual event Feb. 10th

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), is reaffirming its commitment to support small businesses and create “real access to resources and procurement opportunities.”  On February 10, 2021, from 1:00 – 2:30 PM ET, it is hosting “Engage2Connect,” its 3rd in the series of listening labs.

They state: “As we embark on a new year, and new administration, join HHS OSDBU for a panel discussion, at our 3rd listening lab, ‘Engage2Connect.’  Panelists include Mr. Sam Le, from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) who will share new legislation updates, Mr. Cameron Hernandez, from the Administration for Children & Families (ACF) presenting contracting and grant opportunities; and Tommy Marks of the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), who will discuss customized business development and industry-focused services to provide greater access to capital, contracts, and markets for small businesses.”

Dept. of Health & Human Services holding small business outreach event in Nashville on Feb. 11

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are hosting a Small Business Outreach Event in Nashville, Tennessee on Monday, February 11, 2019. 

The purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity for small businesses to build relationships, interact, learn how to engage, and network with the Department’s procurement officials, other federal agencies, and HHS’s top 25 prime contractors. 

In addition, small businesses will have the opportunity to participate in one-on-one matchmaking with various HHS procurement and prime contractors.  Vendors will be vetted in advance to ensure a fit that will benefit both small businesses and the HHS program officials.

Who should attend?

Small businesses interested in learning about federal procurement opportunities and doing business with HHS.

Why should I attend?
  • Familiarize small businesses with the processes and procedures associated with federal government contracting.
  • Gain insight on identifying and pursuing contract opportunities with HHS.
  • An opportunity to network and learn how to do business with the Department, prime contractors and other Federal agencies.
  • Consider HHS spent over $24 billion dollars in contracts last year; $5 billion of them in prime contracts to small businesses.
TIME: 

On-site check-in will open at 7:00 am on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019.  The event will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 3:00 pm.

Georgia Tech to hold panel discussion on succession planning in Savannah on Sept. 27th

Georgia Tech Professional Education is hosting a panel discussion on the topic of “Succession Planning for the Modern Workforce” on the Savannah campus on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018.

The session will be moderated by Suzanne Kirk, president of Employee Development Strategies, Inc. The panel will feature Al Kennickell, president of The Kennickell Group; Karin Condame, human resource director at The Landing Association; and Jim Collins of Thomas & Hutton.

The panel will detail the key aspects of developing a modern succession plan for today’s workforce. It will encompass elements of human resources, fostering company culture, assessing current talent pool, workforce trends, and functioning in multi-generational gaps.

From identifying and developing new leaders to hiring to fit a company’s core values, you will gain the knowledge you need to adapt to the impending future wave of leaders.

University system holding procurement expo on Nov. 30th

The 12th Annual University System of Georgia (USG) Procurement Expo is being held at the Georgia State University Clarkston Campus on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018.

This year’s event, held in collaboration with The Blue Book Building and Construction Network and hosted by Georgia State University, will explore business opportunities with the USG. Network, with federal, state, local government agencies, and with prime construction management firms.

Attendees will:

  • Learn how to navigate the procurement process of the University System of Georgia in the areas of general procurement, facilities (construction), and information technology. 
  • Meet buyers and contracting officers from the public colleges and universities in the State of Georgia.
  • Network with contracting officers from federal, state, and local government agencies.

Fort Benning to hold small business open house on May 24th

Fort Benning, Georgia, Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) invites small businesses to attend an Acquisition Forecast Open House on Thursday, May 24, 2018.

Representatives from various Fort Benning activities, including MICC officials, will be on hand to provide their forecast of various contracting opportunities for 2018 and into the future.

MICC-Fort Rucker will also provide its forecast of acquisitions at Fort Rucker, Alabama, for the fiscal year and into the future.

DLA to hold Land & Maritime supplier conference June 19-20 in Columbus, Ohio
