Specialty trade subcontractors and vendors sought for Kings Bay bid

December 8, 2015 By Nancy Cleveland

Walsh Construction is currently identifying potential subcontractors and vendors for a bid opportunity for the Naval Submarine Base at Kings Bay, Georgia.

Walsh - Archer WesternThe project constructs a perimeter intrusion detection & assessment system (PIDAS) and enclave fencing system (EFS), along the waterfront on Crab Island, to complete the Kings Bay waterfront restricted area (WRA). The project constructs two land/water interface (LWI) barrier terminations that connect the north & south ends of the Crab Island PIDAS EFS to the floating port security barriers. The LWI structure will be a sheet pile bulkhead abutment attached with moveable connections supported by concrete piles to adjust to the water level. The entire length will be equipped with a triple fence, patrol road, & sensor posts. Two fixed fighting positions (FFP) will be constructed on the shore side of the WRA.
