Fulton County hosts small business summit on Aug. 26th

Fulton County’s Economic Development Division is hosting “Getting the Deal: Money, Process & Growth Strategies Summit” on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013.  The Summit kicks-off the County’s “Small Business Initiative.”  The event will be held at Georgia Tech Research Institute Conference Center from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm.

The “Small Business Initiative” is designed to provide valuable information and support to start-up, small, and midsize businesses in Fulton County.   Specifically, the program will focus on emerging market opportunities, positioning businesses to access those markets, applying new technology and marketing tools, and business financing.

A major highlight of the Summit includes Dr. Randall Pinkett delivering the Summit’s keynote address.   Dr. Pinkett was winner in the fourth series of Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice.”  He is a Rhodes Scholar with five advanced degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Oxford.  He is the chairman and CEO of BCT Partners, LLC based in Newark, NJ.  His success story is the perfect fit to inspire entrepreneurs to continue to strive to reach their goals.

Another highlight of the Summit is the afternoon keynote speaker, Stephen Fleming.   Mr. Fleming is Vice President and Executive Director of Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute, the nation’s largest and most comprehensive university-based program of assistance to business and industry.  Mr. Fleming has served as Georgia Tech’s chief commercialization officer and led the Enterprise Innovations Institute’s commercialization services division in creating new companies based on research discoveries. He has over 10 years of private equity experience. Prior to his venture capital career, he spent 15 years in operations roles at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Nortel Networks and LICOM, a venture-funded startup.
