Steve Bettner Counselor, Athens and AtlantaSteve Bettner is a government contracting counselor with the Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center. He has over 15 years of management and consulting experience with the federal government and 12 years of hands-on experience in federal acquisition and contracting as a contracting officer, contract specialist, administrative contract officer, project manager, business consultant and quality assurance representative. As a warranted contract administrator with the Defense Contract Management Agency and for the U.S. Department of Defense he awarded over $5.7 billion worth of government contracts.A former naval submariner, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa and is a graduate of the Naval Nuclear Power School and the Defense Acquisition University where he earned the highest certification as a contracting officer.
